I am a African American *** Male. I am also a crossdresser/transvestite meaning I was born male, but I often dress and appear as a female on a day to day basis. I checked into the Chicago O'Hare InTown Suites in Elk Grove, IL on Monday Aug 22 with the general manager Toni Disalco, into a queen size room. On wed at 2:30 am Aug 24th I went downstairs to the first floor to let my invited guest in I was in a tank top with bath towel fully covering my body no nudity, no partial nudity, i was wearing the towel the way a woman wears the towel once she gets out the shower, no private parts were hanging out, the courtesy officer Kevin Mcelfin an employee of Intown Suites was down stairs at the time and told me I was

inappropriately dressed. I proceeded to let my guest in and the

Courtesy Officer Kevin informed me he was following me to my room to

get my room number to report me because of the way I was dressed. I

told him if I was breaking the law to call the police about my way of

dress. Kevin Mcelfin never once asked me what my room number was.

As courtesy officer continued to harass me on the first floor in the

lobby, my guest became upset and left. As I proceeded to head up stairs

I decided to take the elevator the Courtesy officer Kevin still

followed me as I got on the elevator he informed me cameras were

watching. I got off on the second floor and was nervous now so I went

down a hallway walking very fast and then went into a stair case and

headed up the stairs to the third floor, before I could open the exit

door the Courtesy officer Kevin started to grab at me and was grabbing

my buttock my rear end and trying to pull my towel off. I ran to my

room down the hallway very frightened That he was now chasing me and

had just physically attacked me. I entered my room #325 and waited 5

minutes looked out the peephole and saw Kevin lurking in the hallway as

I was fearful and shocked. I then called the Elk Grove police they came

out and took a police report and I told them I wanted to press charges

against the individual who is the courtesy officer Kevin Mcelfin, the

police took a report and stated management would want me to leave in

the am. No arrest was made.

In the am I awoke and went to talk to Toni Disalco the General Manager

and she said she wanted me to leave ASAP. I told her that was fine

with me I didn't feel comfortable at this location and that I was

leaving due to her employee Kevin Mcelfin physically attacking and

harassing me at 2:30 am. Toni said she heard something happened but

didn't have the full details, Toni Disalco said whatever happened was

my word against his and that all she knew was that I was walking around

the lobby at 2 am with a bath towel on. Toni never took a incident

report from me. I asked for the courtesy officer name she would not

give it to me, and refused me a refund, i went back to my room she

called me in 15 mins and stated she would refund half of my money plus

the deposit, i went back downstairs checked out and she finally gave me

the courtesy officers name as well as a refund of $187.58. Toni did not

ask me any ?? About what happened or show any concern for my safety or

well-being as a paying customer at Intown Suites. On the receipt i was

given with my refund it states that I was forced to leave because the

courtesy officer thought I was a ***, I asked the general

manager Toni why this false accusation was stated and on what basis. I

said are you not going to put my story down that im leaving because I

was attacked by your employee she said she wouldn't change it but then

she wrote customer is leaving on his own free will.

Not only was I physically attacked and harassed, but then I was forced

to leave and treated as if I were a criminal, only given half a

refund, but then I am humiliated and called a *** on my

receipt". And then forced to find lodging at another location which was

an inconvenience/. I believe I was singled out due to my gender appearance, sexuality and race African American?.

I sent in two emails to the customer complaint center within the week

of the incident". On Monday, August 29Th i emailed the Human Resources

manager as well as the CEO of Intown suites and received 2 phone calls

from a marketing manager Brad Ludi on August 29Th, he said he knew

about the complaint but did not address what action the company would

take against Toni Disalco or Kevin Mcelfin.. Brad Ludi also stated to me

that Kevin Mcelfin stated to him that he followed me up to my room to

make sure I got to my room safely and that he wanted to find out my

room number.. I stated to Brad that I was in no type of danger and did

not require any assistance from the Courtesy officer Kevin/. Brad Ludi

also stated that it was my word against Kevin Mcelfin's word and he

also brought up my clothing that I was wearing that night as if I had

committed a crime for the way I was dressed and appeared".

I agree that the guest should have dressed properly, however two wrongs do not make a right! The courtesy officer should have nicely requested the guests name and room number, and advised him of the dress code and rules and wished hima goodnight. The courtesy officer followed him thus provoking or increasing the threat of an ugly situation. This man may be a guest, but he is a paying guest and should have been treated with respect. Two wrongs do not make a right!

Going around in a hotel dressed in a bathtowel is inappropriate outside your room. it doesn't mater what was showing.

if you wouldn't wear it down the street, don't wear it in a hotel lobby.

Yeah... while the security guard did act a little unprofessionally in grabbing at you, normal people do not walk into the hotel lobby in a towel. That is not proper attire for anywhere. It doesn't matter whether you're male or female or white or black or what. It's like walking around in your underwear or a bathrobe. If it were a public place, it might be different, but it's a privately owned business and you have to follow their rules while you're there. Having someone in a towel in their lobby might make people feel uncomfortable and therefore less likely to stay at the hotel.

Sorry honey but coming down to the lobby dressed in a towel was the cause of all your problems.

They most likely thought you were a ***, and having a visitor come to the room at 2:30 am didn't help as far as that's concerned.

You have to realize, you're in a place of business as their GUEST. You have to act in a manner befitting as such.

Then you RAN AWAY from the security guard, that makes you look even more suspicious.

If you had of come down dressed appropriately, then none of that would have happened, therefore, playing the race/gender card is ENTIRELY uncalled for, and the reason why people are taking those types of incidents less seriously.

Now if it were me, I would have just told you to get back to your room, but I can understand how a less open minded individual would have taken it more seriously.

Wow, why in the world would you go into the lobby like that?!? Take 2 minutes and throw on some shorts and a tshirt for goodness sake!!! And why would you leave the elevator where you know there was a camera to capture what you were doing... If you're doing nothing wrong? Based on these strange tidbits you revealed in your story I can't help but side with the hotel/ mgr. Sounds like you make poor choices and that leads to trouble for you. It's all about personal responsibility.
